Google Babel si chiamerà Hangout

Google Hangout

È oramai da parecchio tempo a questa parte che si parla a più riprese delle presunte intenzioni di Google di lanciare un nuovo e rivoluzionario servizio di messaggistica.

Settimane fa ulteriori dettagli a riguardo erano emersi in rete ed il presunto nuovo servizio di big G era stato identificato con il nome di Babel.

Da qualche ora, invece, nuove indiscrezioni in tal senso hanno cominciato ad impazzare online.

Stando a quanto emerso la novità si chiamerà in maniera ufficiale Google Hangout.

Il servizio, così come lascia intuire il nome, avrà sicuramente una forte propensione social (da ricordare la funzione Hangouts integrata in Google+), andrà a configurarsi come una risorsa messa a punto dal gruppo di Mountain View con il preciso scopo di unificare tutte le proprie piattaforme e client dedicati allo scambio dei messaggi tra gli utenti e la presentazione potrebbe avvenire in occasione dell’evento Google I/O 2013 in programma tra pochi giorni, dal 15 al 17 maggio.

Il servizio dovrebbe inoltre integrarsi con la tecnologia Google Now, in azione su Android e soltanto da pochissimo su device iOS, ma non supporterà SMS ed MMS che dovranno quindi essere gestiti mediante altre applicazioni.

Ulteriori indiscrezioni suggeriscono poi che l’icona di Google Hangout sarà molto simile a quella di Messenger ma di colore verde, che per l’interfaccia è stato scelto il tema Holo e che con uno swipe verso destra sarà possibile visualizzare un elenco di tutte le conversazioni.

Infine, sempre secondo i rumors, anche Gmail, come conseguenza del lancio di Google Hangout, subirà un restyling in pieno stile Holo con il supporto al comando swipe verso sinistra per visualizzare la cartella della posta in arrivo, le bozze, le etichette e molto altro ancora.

A questo punto, per saperne di più, non resta nient’altro da fare se non attendere l’inizio del tanto atteso evento Google.
