Facebook, videochiamate in arrivo?

Alcuni utenti hanno cominciato a segnalare nelle ultime ore l’apparizione di un nuovo pulsante, chiamato “call”, che suggerisce come Facebook possa aver iniziato a testare delle funzionalità di videochiamata simili a quanto già offerto da Google con gli Hangouts (Videoritrovi) su Google Plus.

Non è la prima volta che si parla dell’integrazione di qualcosa del genere su Facebook. Circa un anno fa, il re dei social network annunciò una speciale partnership con Skype proprio per portare le videochiamate tra le pagine di Facebook. L’introduzione del Diario (o Timeline) rallentò il processo, ma perlomeno ha dato tempo ai tecnici dell’azienda di Palo Alto di migliorare ulteriormente questa funzione e adesso è praticamente pronta al debutto.

Secondo quanto riportano alcuni siti specializzati, questa caratteristica si attiverà soltanto se l’amico che si vuole contattare è online. Inoltre, sarebbe la prima di alcune applicazioni annunciate ancora lo scorso anno da Zuckerberg riguardo il futuro dei servizi Facebook da questo punto di vista. Si parla infatti non solo di una videochiamate tra due persone, ma anche della possibilità di poter effettuare videochat di gruppo, chiamare contatti Skype direttamente da Facebook e persino chiamare direttamente numeri di telefono standard.

Insomma, Skype che si integra a Facebook. E viceversa. Si ricorda peraltro che la versione 5.7 di Skype per Windows permette già di chiamare gli amici sul social network direttamente dal noto client VoIP. Il pulsante “Call”, protagonista delle ultime indiscrezioni e di questo articolo, mira invece a andare oltre questa necessità, facendo in modo che l’utente possa contattare gli amici Skype direttamente da Facebook, senza passare quindi dal noto software di telecomunicazione acquistato da Microsoft.

Al momento comunque si tratta solo di semplici voci, o dovremmo dire testimonianze da parte di chi sembra sia già coinvolto nella fase di test. Siamo sicuri che nel giro di qualche settimana avremo qualche informazione ufficiale in più.

    put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
