twitter in francese

With the addition of the Spanish version of the site last month, many people have joined the conversations on Twitter. More and more people twittent outside the United States and we are now able to accommodate users of nearly 30 Francophone countries. It is now possible to change the language settings in French with the participation of translators who have helped turn Twitter into a platform for truly global communication.

  7. Understanding COSC Certification and Its Importance in Watchmaking
COSC Accreditation and its Rigorous Criteria
COSC, or the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Agency, is the official Swiss testing agency that attests to the accuracy and precision of wristwatches. COSC accreditation is a mark of excellent craftsmanship and trustworthiness in chronometry. Not all timepiece brands seek COSC validation, such as Hublot, which instead sticks to its own strict criteria with mechanisms like the UNICO calibre, reaching equivalent precision.

    The Art of Precision Chronometry
The central mechanism of a mechanical watch involves the spring, which provides power as it loosens. This mechanism, however, can be vulnerable to environmental elements that may impact its precision. COSC-certified mechanisms undergo strict testing—over 15 days in various conditions (5 positions, 3 temperatures)—to ensure their resilience and dependability. The tests assess:

Average daily rate accuracy between -4 and +6 secs.
Mean variation, highest variation rates, and impacts of temperature changes.
    Why COSC Accreditation Matters
For watch aficionados and collectors, a COSC-accredited timepiece isn’t just a item of tech but a testament to lasting excellence and precision. It signifies a watch that:

    Provides excellent reliability and accuracy.
Provides confidence of quality across the complete construction of the watch.
Is apt to maintain its value more efficiently, making it a sound choice.
    Well-known Timepiece Manufacturers
Several well-known brands prioritize COSC certification for their timepieces, including Rolex, Omega, Breitling, and Longines, among others. Longines, for instance, presents collections like the Record and Soul, which feature COSC-validated mechanisms equipped with innovative substances like silicon equilibrium suspensions to boost durability and performance.

Historic Background and the Evolution of Timepieces
The concept of the chronometer dates back to the requirement for precise chronometry for navigational at sea, emphasized by John Harrison’s work in the eighteenth cent. Since the formal foundation of Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres in 1973, the certification has become a yardstick for judging the precision of high-end timepieces, maintaining a tradition of excellence in watchmaking.

    Conclusion
Owning a COSC-accredited timepiece is more than an aesthetic selection; it’s a dedication to quality and accuracy. For those appreciating precision above all, the COSC accreditation offers peacefulness of mind, guaranteeing that each validated watch will perform reliably under various circumstances. Whether for individual contentment or as an investment, COSC-accredited watches distinguish themselves in the world of watchmaking, maintaining on a legacy of precise timekeeping.
