In particolare la società Google è stata accusata di voler creare troppe aspettative attorno a Google Wave, magnificando il prodotto in maniera eccessiva e attirando a sé gli utenti con l’esca di un’anteprima beta riservata a 100.000 utenti, una mossa pubblicitaria sfociata in un’asta su eBay dove gli inviti per Google Wave hanno raggiunto in questi giorni la quota di 5.000 dollari.
