Una ricerca statistica messa a punto dalla Robert H. Smith School of Business della University of Maryland, ha tenuto in considerazione il social network Facebook, come nuova realtà oltre che sociale, anche economica. La pubblicazione dei risultati di questa ricerca che prende il nome di “Facebook App Economy”, ha mostrato come vengono misurati gli effetti delle applicazioni di Facebook, non dal punto di vista sociale (come avviene spesso), ma dal punto di vista dell’economia, in un Paese come gli Stati Uniti d’America.

 

Esaminando con occhio critico il social network, vediamo come la creatura di Mark Zuckerberg, ad oggi presenti ben 20 milioni di applicazioni disponibili per i suoi 750 milioni di utenti, tutte certificate, anche se qualcuna un po’ di basso livello e mai presa in considerazione dall’utenza.
Se pensiamo che nel vicino 2007, le applicazioni disponibili sul social network erano solo 80 e servivano a 20 milioni di utenti, ci rendiamo conto di quanto sia cambiato il giro di affari intorno al social network in blue. La Robert H. Smith School of Business della University of Maryland, esaminando il territorio limitato degli Stati Uniti d’America, ha pubblicato come l’esame delle applicazioni del social network di questa grande rete telematica, andrebbero a movimentare nell’economia delle cifre tra i 12 ed i 15 miliardi di dollari all’anno, pagati annualmente come stipendio, oppure come benefit.

 

Dal punto di vista dei numeri in relazione ai posti di lavoro, sembra che le Facebook Apps, generino un totale di dipendenti tra fissi e part-time che vanno a coprire una fascia tra i 182.000 ed i 235.000 lavoratori.

 

Questi dati sono importanti per comprendere anche dal punto di vista economico, l’importanza di una dinamica come quella di Facebook, anche perché i dati esaminati provengono sia dalle applicazioni generate da singoli e aziende, ma anche dai valori investiti dall’industria di supporto che lavora in e per questo settore.
