Twitter e privacy: la disavventura di David Pogue

Rispettare la privacy di un individuo, anche se si tratta di un personaggio pubblico, sembra essere una cosa sacrosanta per i navigatori americani. La prova ci viene fornita dalla buffa disavventura di David Pogue, famosissimo tech columnist del New York Times. Pogue ha dato per errore il suo cellulare su twitter, inoltrandolo ad una lista di “followers” che comprende circa 21.000 contatti.

Le intenzioni di David Pogue erano assai meno invasive, in realtà quel numero avrebbe dovuto pervenire a pochi e selezionati contatti. Ma la fretta gli è stata fatale, e il giornalista ha dimenticato di digitare la D per inserire il comando Direct Message, cioè “messaggio privato”. Quando si è accorto dell’errore, era già troppo tardi: il suo numero era stato inviato alle bacheche di tutti gli utenti. David Pogue non ha potuto fare altro che inviare subito un altro twitt, in cui chiedeva ai suoi followers di cancellare il messaggio precedente e di non usare il numero che vi era scritto. E infatti, nessuno ha mai chiamato quel numero.

Il fatto sorprendente è proprio questo: nessuno di quei 21.000 contatti si è azzardato a comporre il numero privato di David Pogue. Anzi, il giornalista è stato raggiunto da diversi messaggi che attestavano la solidarietà delle twittersfera per un errore che, a quanto sembra, è tra i più comuni.

Invece, provate ad immaginare che cosa sarebbe successo se lo stesso incidente fosse capitato in Italia, ad un nostro giornalista. Immaginate di svegliarvi una mattina e di trovare sullla vostra bacheca Twitter il numero del cellulare di Enrico Mentana, di Fabio Fazio, di Michele Santoro, o addirittura di Emilio Fede.
Sareste in grado di resistere alla tentazione di fare quel numero?

  10. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any techniques to help stop content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate it.
