La news sta sconvolgendo la stampa. Milioni di italiani assidui frequentatori e non del noto Fast Food con il doppio arco d’oro hanno appreso che oltre 300 sui 380 siti McDonald’s in Italia, metteranno a disposizione la propria Wi-Fi gratuitamente (previa registrazione) durante la pausa pranzo. Ebbene McDonald’s sa sempre come dare un proprio valore aggiunto ai propri clienti, e questa volta ci riesce dando l’opportunità ai propri clienti di utilizzare i propri dispositivi hardware Wi-Fi al tavolo, mentre consumano un McBacon oppure un McFlurry. Il comunicato stampa è stato molto chiaro: “Il servizio è attivo oggi in oltre 300 dei ristoranti McDonald’s in Italia. I locali in cui la connessione è disponibile sono contraddistinti all’ingresso con vetrofanie ad hoc…La connessione Wi-Fi da McDonald’s è gratuita e senza limiti di tempo. La fonte di connettività è a banda larga via cavo, ADSL o HDSL, secondo la disponibilità sul territorio. Provider della rete è BT Italia”. Per il login, basta un semplice riconoscimento che verrà effettuato tramite SMS: “Per accedere per la prima volta al servizio Wi-Fi da McDonald’s è necessario compilare un modulo di registrazione on-line. Si ottiene così la propria User ID e Password di accesso inviata tramite SMS al numero indicato durante la registrazione….Una volta effettuato l’accesso sarà possibile avviare la navigazione. Come ulteriore servizio McDonald’s metterà a breve a disposizione la Home Page di Libero.it, come landing page, che consente all’utente connesso di iniziare la navigazione, utilizzando tutti i contenuti e i servizi che il famoso portale offre (Mail, Community, Search, News)“.
Le spiegazioni di questa scelta sono state date da Roberto Masi, Managing Director di McDonald’s Italia: “L’accoglienza, il comfort, la rilassatezza, la disponibilità di spazio e di tempo è il codice nuovo con cui i ristoranti McDonald’s da tempo si stanno presentando al loro pubblico. Il concetto di fast è davvero lontano e vogliamo sempre più proporci come luogo che accoglie, trattiene, diverte, consente di provare l’esperienza del brand McDonald’s e della sua nuova dimensione di casual restaurant. Da diversi anni abbiamo cominciato a cambiare pelle trasformando i nostri ristoranti in luoghi moderni, caldi e accoglienti, allestiti all’insegna del design, per rispondere alle diverse esigenze e gusti dei nostri diversi pubblici. Il nuovo servizio Wi-Fi è solo una delle dimensioni, la più recente, di questo cambiamento“.
Sicuramente questo uno step inportante per tutti gli amanti del McDonald’s che solitamente, sono clienti abituali (soprattutto quelli business) perchè destinati al non ritorno a casa per la pausa pranzo. Probabilmente una gradita novità che porterà ad un aumento dei contatti del doppio arco d’oro.
