I conti di Murdoch sono “rossi”

Sembra proprio che il crack economico mondiale, abbia colpito tutti, dai normali stipendiati da 500 euro al mese ai grandi imprenditori. Parliamo di Rupert Murdoch, il “giovanotto 79enne” che decise un paio di anni fa, di acquistare il social network MySpace, prevedendo dei guadagni enormi, grazie al boom di iscrizioni continue che avvenivano sul sito. La previsione dell’arrivo di Facebook, in effetti, non era stata calcolata dal magnate della finanza.

Ad oggi, con un continuo declino delle iscrizioni al proprio social network che è diventato una vera e propria “vena aperta” per l’imprenditore, si è visto obbligato a fare delle scelte che tentino di risanare il suo conto in banca.
Ebbene, a partire dal 2010, i siti web delle sue testate giornalistiche on line come il New York Post, il The Times ed il The Sun, diverranno a pagamento come da poco ha già fatto il Wall Street Journal. Per motivare questo cambio di rotta, però, Murdoch non ha parlato di necessità economiche, bensì l’ha giustificata dichiarando che: “Un’industria non può regalare il suo prodotto, altrimenti vuol dire che quest’ultimo non è di qualità, siamo certi che altri ci seguiranno su questa strada“.

Il magnate australiano, ha subito avuto consensi da redazioni illustri quale quella del New York Times ed altre testate americane, che pensano che divulgare gratuitamente le news su Internet, sia solo un modo per fare arricchire i motori di ricerca come Google e Yahoo!.
Ciò che non è stato conteggiato sicuramente è il rovescio della medaglia da parte dell’utenza, intesa come una “fuga degli utenti” verso fonti di news gratuite e di seguito la fuga degli investitori pubblicitari.

I conti per Murdoch non tornano. Si parla infatti di perdite pari a 203 milioni di dollari, che equivalgono a circa 8 centesimi per ogni azione e contro gli utili per 1,1 miliardi. Il calo del giro d’affari è dell’11% in totale.
Secondo i rumors, la vera tegola di Murdoch sarebbe stato il successo di Facebook e la conseguente calata degli iscritti al social network di MySpace.

You might add a video or a related picture or two to get readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it could bring your postsblog a little livelier.
