Come stiamo cercando di comprendere dalle nostre cronache quotidiane anche su IoChatto.com, l’Iran si trova in una situazione politica alquanto particolare che mette in seria difficoltà lo status di molti cittadini e Neda era uno di questi che ha pagato con la morte. Oltre che scendere in piazza e manifestare, molti cittadini iraniani, stanno mettendo on line i loro pensieri, le loro impressioni e soprattutto le proprie richieste d’aiuto. Il voto in Iran ha permesso l’assedio del Web da parte di personaggi coinvolti in questa vicenda e soprattutto di civili che si sentono pronti ad una rivolta contro un regime che non viene considerato giusto. Molto difficile farsi comprendere e capire le ragioni di queste persone, per chi del popolo medio iraniano non conosce la lingua madre Inglese e quindi continua a scrivere post sul proprio profilo spesso “incomprensibili” per chi non conosce la lingua iraniana. Stiamo parlando del “Farsi”, una lingua di origine persiana ad oggi utilizzata in Iran per comunicare e scrivere. Ebbene, visto l’utilizzo molto forte dei social network e dei motori di ricerca in questa fase di ribellione, i due big del settore, sia Facebook che Google, hanno comunicato ufficialmente di inserire nelle proprie interfacce la lingua Farsi come servizio sia in Facebook Beta che in Google Translate. Questo per permettere agli utenti stranieri ed ai residenti stessi di utilizzare le interfacce ed aggiornarsi sulle novità in maniera più rapida e corretta possibile.
Uno sviluppo tecnico che è stato a dir poco sorprendente. La realizzazione in tempi molto rapidi, dovuta all’esigenza attuale per la questione politica iraniana, ma soprattutto dal punto di vista sociale. A partire dal presupposto che una buona parte dei messaggi di aggiornamento e di comunicazione su Facebook sui profili, non erano scritti in lingua inglese, ed il servizio quindi veniva “mutilato” in un certo qual modo agli utilizzatori. Per far si che questo fosse possibile, tra Facebook e Google, c’è stato un affiancamento di staff da parte di volontari. Se ne contano più di 400 in totale e questo per permettere una diffusione on line molto rapida. Portare a termine questa operazione è significato soprattutto proporre agli iraniani un nuovo servizio fruibile al 100%.
