In questi anni diverse situazioni hanno fatto crashare WhatsApp. Basti pensare al messaggio del punto nero, che conteneva alcuni caratteri invisibili che WhatsApp, soprattutto in riferimento alla sua versione ottimizzata sul sistema operativo Android, non era in grado di riprodurre. Oggi voglio prestare attenzione a un’altra situazione critica, in relazione a quelli che vengono definiti strani messaggi di testo lunghi e vcard.

Come si può bloccare WhatsApp a settembre 2020

Non esiste un modo generale per descrivere questi testi, secondo quanto riportato di recente da WABetaInfo. Quindi, la fonte preferisce chiamarli “messaggi spaventosi”. I messaggi strani spaventosi sono molto pericolosi e possono rendere particolarmente complicata la propria esperienza su WhatsApp. Fondamentalmente, un contatto potrebbe inviare un messaggio che contiene molti caratteri strani. Se li leggi per intero, non hanno senso, ma WhatsApp potrebbe interpretare il messaggio in modo sbagliato.

Ogni contatto ha un nome strano molto lungo, che contiene un codice di arresto anomalo. A volte viene modificata anche la vcard, inviando qualcosa chiamato Payload che peggiora la situazione.

Una soluzione potrebbe arrivare dal blocco dei messaggi in entrata da parte di utenti che non conosciamo, considerando il fatto che spesso e volentieri tali testi giungono da fonti per noi sconosciute. Starmeo a vedere se da WhatsApp arriveranno metodi più definitivi.
