Social editor on line: proviamo Docs che sfida Google Docs

Oggi parliamo del progetto che vede la “comunione dei beni” tra Facebook e la Microsoft: Docs. Questo progetto, è un appendice on line di Office 2010 e permette l’utilizzo di buona parte delle funzionalità dell’applicazione direttamente on line, come una web apps. Docs, in se per se è una piattaforma di cui abbiamo già parlato ed è l’interfaccia social web per creare e condividere on line documenti Word, fogli di calcolo Excel e presentazioni di PowerPoint tutto attraverso Facebook.
In primis per utilizzare Docs è quindi necessario essere iscritti a Facebook. L’interfaccia con cui ci troveremo ad avere a che a fare è molto intuitiva e come quella installata sui PC. Facciamo attenzione ad una situazione: Docs non è un sostituto di Office 2010, quantomeno ne permette le stesse funzionalità della versione desktop. Questo non significa che sia una web apps senza senzo. E’ invece qualcosa di molto utile se andiamo a quantificare l’usabilità del prodotto per tutti coloro che hanno la necessità di condividere documenti on line con i propri colleghi e amici.


La beta che è testabile attualmente, si può utilizzare tramite Facebook, ma per essere utilizzatori della stessa c’è bisogno di aver avuto l’Invitation Code da parte di Microsoft che indica la possibilità di utilizzare il servizio.
Per chi avesse avuto l’Invitation Code ed effettuato l’attivazione, può inserire nuovi documenti, premendo semplicementee dal menu in alto a destra “Add a Doc” oppure la voce “Upload a Doc”. Da qui si può scegliere se creare oppure importare un documento Word, un foglio di calcolo Excel oppure una presentazione in PowerPoint.
L’integrazione con Facebook permette una serie di modalità di condivisione: Individual friends, All my friends, Everyone, Only Me. Tradotte in italiano, richiamano Facebook ed i dettagli delle impostazioni per la privacy personale. Questo tipo di settaggi si può effettuare sui documenti e sugli amici, per permettere ad altri utenti di modificare i documenti tramite l’editor.
