MySpace, rilancio previsto per la fine del 2012

Specific Media ha grandi piani per il rilancio di MySpace, dopo aver acquistato il social network per una cifra ridicola (circa 35 milioni di dollari) la società sta collaborando con Justin Timberlake per rilanciare quello che un tempo era il social network numero uno al mondo.

A dir la verità un rilancio globale era atteso per la fine del 2011 ma fino ad ora non ci sono state novità di alcun tipo su MySpace, adesso veniamo a sapere che Specific Media sta cercando una agenzia specializzata in marketing online per collaborare alla rinascita di MySpace.

Entro la fine del 2012 Specific Media dovrebbe rilanciare MySpace, con una campagna specifica per far capire a tutti che il brand è tornato. In effetti gli ultimi anni non sono stati affatto facili per MySpace, dopo aver dominato il settore nel biennio 2006/2008, il sito ha iniziato a soffrire l’avanzata di rivali come Facebook, Twitter e Tumblr, tanto che nel giro di pochi mesi gli utenti sono spariti.

Ad oggi MySpace ha circa 35 milioni di utenti attivi negli Stati Uniti, in USA le statistiche continuano ad essere discrete, anche se non eccezionali, segno che probabilmente un futuro per MySpace è possibile, a patto di giocare le carte giuste. Il social network dovrebbe diventare un enorme contenitore di musica, video ed altri contenuti multimediali non strettamente connessi alla musica, secondo i piani di Specific Media MySpace diventerà un hub dove trovare telefilm, film, show TV, eventi sportivi, concerti e tanto altro ancora.

Personalmente credo che rilanciare MySpace non sarà facile, il marchio è ormai compromesso agli occhi del pubblico, il social network è stato abbandonato per troppo tempo a se stesso e questo ha danneggiato l’immagine del brand. Specific Media comunque crede ancora nelle potenzialità di MySpace ed antro fine anno dovremmo assistere ad un rilancio globale della piattaforma.
