Gli attacchi alla sicurezza di noti social network come Facebook e Twitter avutisi negli ultimi tempi, sono stati visti come un modo per poter dimostrare la supremazia della “forza di testa” rispetto alla “forza di soldo”.
Ebbene, secondo gli esperti di sicurezza on line, queste sono solo delle semplici scusanti per nascondere il vero intento degli hacker: quello di contrastare la corrente mondiale e rendere nota la loro possibilità di diventare amplificatori per una informazione alternativa. Per farci capire ciò, ci esemplificano gli attacchi fatti i primi di agosto nei confronti di Cyxymu, un blogger della Georgia che criticava apertamente il governo russo per l’Ossezia.

Gli attacci sono nati in un modo molto semplice, facendo dei semplici dispetti ai proprietari di account, molto spesso di livello importante, e sono diventati sempre più pesanti.
Se qualcuno oggi decide di mettere sotto test (oppure mandare in tilt per un bel po’), siti super visitati quali Facebook o Twitter, non si esclude che questo stesso “qualcuno”, domani possa andare ad attaccare delle Istituzioni, o ancora delle reti principali di utilizzo quali i trasporti e la rete telefonica. Queste parole escono fuori da Mike McConnel, il direttore dell’Intelligence degli Stati Uniti, ai tempi di Bush.

Proprio a tal proposito, il governo degli Stati Uniti, ha lanciato un bando per selezionare diecimila cyber-guardiani, ma si è subito capito che l’utenza americana non è ancora esperta per combattere questi crimini. Allora, Obama aveva deciso di proporre Melissa Hathaway, una delle regine della sicurezza sul Web per ricoprire tale ruolo. Solo che lei ha lasciato la Casa Bianca, parlando a tutti di una “Amministrazione immobile”.

Ad oggi, a Tallin, dove ha sede il placet della Nato, Obama ha incontrato il Presidente estone Toomas hendrik Ilves per parlare di cyber-sicurezza mondiale, lasciando tutti noi in attesa di un responso…speriamo positivo.
