You Tube sempre più sulla cresta dell’onda

Quasi un anno fa, il 20 Maggio circa, si attendeva con ansia il decollo di uno dei social network di video sharing più diffusi al mondo, stiamo parlando di You Tube. Questa piattaforma per la condivisione dei video diventata ormai la più famosa per popolarità e diffusione di video seri, semi seri e vere sciocchezze, sembra che sta vivendo un periodo di vera crisi a causa della duplice faccia di una stessa medaglia: il rapporto soldi / utenti.

Ebbene si, la crescita continua degli utenti e dei caricamenti video, aumenta in numero esponenziale rispetto alle magre entrate del network. Mountain View, non è molto contenta di questa situazione che sembra andare avanti proprio dal 2006, quando l’azienda di Brin e Page ha versato oltre 1,65 miliardi di dollari per acquistare il gigante dei video. Potrebbe chiamarsi un investimento sballato, visto che fino ad oggi, con il servizio di broadcasting non ha guadagnato ancora nulla.
Per superare questo stallo di entrate, si è tentato quindi, di agire sulle uscite.

Il primo passo è stato quello di sanare quel canale di spese legali che continuamente il network era costretto a versare a causa dei contenuti protetti da copyright. Inserendo delle limitazioni ai video considerati “rischiosi” per il diritto d’autore, già le spese per gli avvocati si sono ridotte di circa il 20%. Dal punto di vista degli investimenti per il guadagno, si è notato sicuramente che da un po’ di tempo le pagine hanno un bel po di sponsor e pubblicità all’interno, una cosa che non guasta. Inoltre, con l’arrivo del progetto Vevo (convergenza tra Universal e Sony), si comincia a vedere qualche spiragio di luce.
Si dice che tutte le “cure” attuate fino ad oggi abbiano portato a segnare evidenti crescite nell’ambito economico, ma ancora nessuna certezza è stata dichiarata dallo staff del sito. Attenderemo novità sull’utilizzo del portale e soprattutto incrociamo le dita sperando che la fruizione rimanga gratuita.
