WhatsApp pronto ad ottenere un aggiornamento significativo ed importante, visto che la nota applicazione pare essere in procinto di ottenere il supporto per adesivi animati di qualità superiore. Come molti di voi sapranno, WhatsApp supporta gli adesivi animati. Ciò che molti di voi ora sapranno è che la piattaforma supporta adesivi animati solo nel formato WebP.

Sebbene questo formato sia ottimo in termini di efficienza, poiché offre dimensioni ridotte del pacchetto, non è eccezionale in termini di qualità, poiché il contenuto in questo formato inizia a sembrare pixelato man mano che continui ad aumentarne le dimensioni. Questo è un formato di file vettoriale a differenza di WebP, che è un formato di file raster. Pertanto, il contenuto nel formato Lottie apparirà nitido (manterrà la qualità) indipendentemente da quanto ne aumenti le dimensioni. Ciò significa che gli adesivi animati nel formato file Lottie appariranno nitidi sia sugli schermi piccoli che su quelli grandi.

WABetaInfo riferisce che gli adesivi animati nel formato file Lottie possono anche offrire “movimenti più fluidi, colori vivaci e dettagli intricati” rispetto a quelli nel formato WebP. A questo punto, potresti pensare che questi miglioramenti potrebbero comportare un aumento delle dimensioni del file. Beh no. Gli adesivi nel formato file Lottie devono avere dimensioni del pacchetto simili o inferiori rispetto a quelli nel formato WebP. Quindi, stai ottenendo il meglio da entrambi i mondi.

Secondo le ultime indicazioni, gli sviluppatori potrebbero dover dedicare più lavoro per creare adesivi nel formato file Lottie rispetto a crearli nel formato file WebP per il pubblico. Al momento non ci sono informazioni su quando WhatsApp renderà disponibile questa funzionalità nella versione stabile dell’app. Aspettatevi che ciò accada una volta che la società avrà completato i test sul Web, iOS, Windows, Mac e altre piattaforme, il che potrebbe richiedere almeno un paio di mesi.
