Conto alla rovescia per l’URL personalizzato di Facebook

Non manca molto, nemmeno due giorni, alle 6.00 AM del 13 giugno, data fatidica della in cui Facebook permetterà ai membri del social network di scegliere un nome utente personale, un username che andrà a sostituire la stringa numerica del nostro vecchio indirizzo Facebook. Finalmente, avremo un URL personalizzato, semplice e facile da ricordare, e che darà l’opportunità ai navigatori di rintracciarci più facilmente sul Web.

In Italia, a partire dalle 6 del mattino, potremo scegliere un nick divertente o il nostro nome da integrare all’indirizzo Facebook, alla stessa maniera di Twitter o di MySpace, ma questo cambiamento, per alcuni, potrebbe rivelarsi dannoso, invece che piacevole. L’username di Facebook, una volta scelto, non potrà più essere modificato o trasferito ad un altro profilo (attenzione dunque a fare la scelta giusta e soprattutto a non commettere errori di battitura), e non si potranno utilizzare parole troppo generiche, come ad esempio “pizza“, perché questi termini non verranno accettati da Facebook come parte di un URL.

Ma il vantaggio di avere un URL personalizzato (o Vanity Url) comporta anche qualche problema, legato al pericolo dei furti d’identità. La tentazione di ricorrere al cybersquatting e rubare l’identità di un Vip, di una celebrità, può fare gola a molti malintenzionati. Senza contare i casi di omonimia che nel nostro paese sono così frequenti. Solo su Facebook sono presenti più di 500 Mario Rossi, ma chi di loro avrà un URL identico al suo nome utente?

Per ovviare a questi problemi, l’unica soluzione pare quella di alzarsi molto presto sabato mattina, e accendere il computer proprio allo scadere del conto alla rovescia Facebook, così da registrare per primi l’URL desiderato.

I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
