Tenendo conto di tali ragioni il team di Facebook ha quindi ben pensato di mettere a disposizione degli utenti un efficace ed interessante sistema mediante cui ciascun iscritto ha la possibilità di augurare buon anno nuovo ai propri amici.

Trattasi, nello specifico, della nuova applicazione Midnight Message Delivery, integrata in Facebook Stories, il sito web esterno al social network che raccoglie i trend e gli strumenti di statistiche aggregate, e risulta basato su un servizio estremamente semplice che prevede l’invio di messaggi di Capodanno all’ora esatta, in modalità offline e tenendo conto dei fusi orari in maniera tale da poter augurare buon anno nuovo allo scoccare della mezzanotte a prescindere dalla locazione geografica dei propri amici.

Per potersi servire dell’applicazione è necessario loggarsi con il proprio profilo ed attendere l’apertura della pagina con il messaggio di auguri per l’anno nuovo ed i suggerimenti degli amici a cui spedire il tutto.

I suggerimenti, così come nella maggior parte dei casi su Facebook, sono frutto di algoritmi per cui nel caso in cui risultassero scorretti è sempre possibile selezionare manualmente gli utenti a cui inviare gli auguri.

Dopo aver selezionato e confermato gli amici Facebook programmerà la spedizione che, così come già accennato, sarà effettuata alla mezzanotte del 31 dicembre del 2012 e finirà direttamente sulla timeline dei vari destinatari.

Da notare che per ciascun messaggio di auguri è disponibile un testo di default che eventualmente può essere modificato ed a cui è possibile aggiungere immagini o video.
