Sembra che Google abbia indicizzato ben 52 milioni di gruppi Facebook. La novità riguarda i gruppi pubblici, quelli cioè le cui impostazioni di privacy sono settate per essere visibili a tutti. In realtà, il team di Google ha dichiarato che gli “open groups” sono sempre stati indicizzabili, tuttavia la quantità di informazioni ora disponibili è cresciuta notevolmente nelle ultime settimane. Questo perchè il motore di ricerca sembra in grado di indicizzare anche le discussioni aperte dai partecipanti, e questa è una grossa novità.

Il comportamento di Google comporta qualche disagio per la privacy degli utenti, ma per Facebook rappresenta un vantaggio. La ragione principale è che Google è uno dei fattori principali di traffico verso Facebook, se non il più grande. Con oltre 52 milioni di gruppi, e ben 745 milioni di pagine finora indicizzate, la quantità di traffico verso il sito è destinata a crescere ancora di più.

E il merito non è da attribuire solo all’implementazione della ricerca di Google, ma anche al contenuto generato ogni giorno dagli utenti, che contribuiscono a creare e a partecipare a nuove discussioni.
