Facebook rifiuta la foto di una mamma che allatta

È successo un bel po’ di tempo fa. Precisamente nel 2008. Si tratta della storia di una signora di Vancouver che un bel giorno decide di pubblicare sul noto social network una serie di foto che la ritraggono mentre allatta una delle sue bambine. Sabato scorso è avvenuto qualcosa in più: Facebook invia ad Emma un messaggio in cui dichiara che l’immagine che la ritraeva con la figlia Chloe è considerata sessualmente esplicita. Così la foto è stata vietata e lei non ha potuto accedere al social network per tre giorni. Moltissimi sosterranno la tesi che non c’è un gesto più naturale e umano che quello di allattare il proprio bambino, e proprio per questo tanti non comprendono il perché immotivato della censura dell’immagine.

 

Emma Kwasnica, la mamma in questione, sostiene il proprio punto di vista e non crede ci sia stata un’irregolarità nel proprio comportamento. Dal canto suo, Facebook ha deciso di censurare la foto perché l’ha etichettata come sessualmente esplicita. Dal 2008 in poi sono nate diverse battaglie legali intraprese dalla giovane mamma che è stata anche accompagnata e sostenuta da delle associazioni canadesi. Queste ultime sono dell’idea che una madre che allatta un figlio non è un gesto da nascondere od occultare, ma da proteggere. Le madri possono allattare in pubblico e questo deve essere un loro diritto che non dovrebbe fare scandalo.

 

 

Il paradosso più grande è che ad oggi sul social network Facebook è nato una pagina della mamma Emma con un seguito di più di 3mila persone che la sostengono, che trovate qui. Voi che ne pensate? Una madre che allatta va comunque considerata come una foto di nudo e quindi degna di censura? Oppure di fronte ad un gesto così naturale come quello dell’allattamento deve essere rispettato e non considerato negativo? Questo è ciò che sostiene Emma:

“Facebook dovrebbe usare gli stessi standard utilizzati per l’allattamento in pubblico. L’allattamento al seno non è pornografico. Non è osceno. È una normale funzione umana.”

 

Non è della stessa opinione la responsabile canadese di Facebook, Reena Dacdo,che ha sostenuto che si tratta semplicemente degli standard di Facebook che devono essere rispettati senza eccezioni.
