Facebook: ecco le novità sulla privacy

Qualche settimana fa vi avevamo preannunciato che Facebook avrebbe reso i profili visualizzabili a tutti. In questi giorni ciò si avvera: chiunque lo vorrà potrà settare “visualizzabile a tutti” le opzioni legati alla propria privacy, sarà possibile selezionare tutti i contenuti della propria pagina oppure selezionare solamente gli aggiornamenti sullo stato, Links, Wall Post, informazioni di base, dati personali, informazioni sull’istruzione, Informazioni sul lavoro, foto, video e molto altro ancora.

A rendere nota la novità è Marco Slee, un ingegnere di Facebook:

By changing your Profile setting to “Everyone”, anyone who finds you through a search on Facebook or sees a post or comment you make can now click on your content and view the elements of your profile you’ve opted to make open. While some special rules remain in place about who can see your profile if you are a minor, people generally won’t need to be friends with you or share a common network in order to view your content if you choose the new “Everyone” setting.

Cambiando il profilo con impostazione a “tutti”, chi vi trova con una ricerca su Facebook o vede un post o un commento fatto da voi, può ora accedere con un click ai vostri contenuti e visualizzare gli elementi del vostro profilo che avete scelto di rendere libero. Mentre alcune norme speciali restano ancora in vigore su chi può vedere il vostro profilo: se siete minorenni, in genere, le persone non avranno bisogno di essere vostri amici o condividere con voi una rete comune al fine di visualizzare i contenuti (se si sceglie la nuova impostazione a “Tutti”).

In questo modo, farsi trovare da vecchi amici e/o conoscenti sarà più facile in quanto più vostri dati personali saranno accessibili. E’ questo l’intento Facebook che, come ben sappiamo, è nato con lo scopo di mettere in comunicazione vecchi contatti.
