Facebook: 1 utente su 5 lo utilizza per prendere decisioni sanitarie negli US

Secondo un recente sondaggio effettuato negli Stati Uniti è stato constatato che una persona su cinque si serve dei servizi di social networking, in primis Facebook, come mezzo mediante cui ottenere consigli circa la propria salute e prendere eventuali decisioni in merito alle possibili modalità di cura da intraprendere.

Il sondaggio, condotto dalla National Research Corporation, ha infatti dimostrato che su ben 23.000 abitanti degli US il 94,1 % si serve di Facebook in maniera piuttosto costante al fine di ottenere informazioni mediche ed agire di conseguenza andando dunque a denotare un enorme grado di fiducia nei moderni mezzi di comunicazione ed, implicando, ovviamente, tutte le possibili controindicazioni annesse.

Facebook, infatti, mette a disposizione di tutti i suoi utilizzatori una gran quantità di informazioni d’ogni genere, tra cui anche quelle concernenti le cure mediche alle quali molti utenti possono appellarsi per effettuare confronti, trovare conforto, ottenere consigli ecc…

Dati di questo tipo potrebbero dunque motivare numerosi operatori sanitari ad espandere la propria presenza su Facebook e, conseguenzialmente, anche la loro attività, sebbene gran parte di essi non sia d’accordo nella messa in atto di un’operazione di questo tipo.

In ogni caso, oltre a Facebook, tra i social media maggiormente impiegati per prendere decisioni sanitarie vi sono poi YouTube (32%), Twitter (17,9%), MySpace (17,7%) e, infine, FourSquare (2.4%).
