E’ una crescita che ha davvero dell’incredibile. In poco tempo Facebook si sta realmente affermando come il mioglior social network di tutti i tempi. Sono solo chiacchiere? No. A dimostrarlo sono gli ultimi risultati: 175.000.000 di utenti, un dato davvero straordinario. Myspace ed altri social networks dovranno ben presto darsi per vinti? Non c’è proprio possibilità di fare concorrenza ad un colosso del genere. Si è passati facilmente dai 450.000 visitatori al giorno agli attuali 480.000, stando a questi livelli dovremmo aspettarci una quota totale pari a 300.000.000 alla fine di quest’anno.

Cosa determina questa crescita? Secondo i dati statistici, la maggior parte degli utenti sarebbe costituita da uomini e donne con età uguale, o superiore, ai 30 anni. Sono stati soprattutto loro, coloro che hanno voluto reincontrare vecchie conoscenze, ritrovare amici di scuola e/o di lavoro e stare in contatto con famigliari distanti. Interessanti in proposito i dati degli Stati uniti: il 45% degli utenti ha più di 26 anni e si fanno sempre più strada le donne aventi più di 55 anni, con un spropositato 175,3% in crescita negli ultimi 120 giorni.

Facebook si è accresciuto in 30 paesi del 25% rispetto al totale registrato a dicembre 2008! In Islanda quasi il 41 per cento della popolazione del paese lo utilizza, mezza nazione registrata su di un social network, dati alla mano davvero straordinari che lasciano a pensare.

Ovviamente negli ultimi tempi l’utenza sta divenendo sempre più variegata. Ora anche un’ingente numero di ragazzi inizia ad utilizzare più frequentemente Facebook rispetto ad altri social networks come Myspace, Netlog, ecc. E’ in corso una grande migrazione di account e di profili.

Sicuramente i dirigenti del colosso saranno lieti di immettere nuovi spazi pubblicitari e di rivenderli all’offerente. Chissà quali somme di denaro stanno intascando Mark Zuckerberg e tutta quanta la sue équipe, non osiamo nemmeno immaginarlo, ma sappiamo che certamente si parla di milioni di euro anzi, dovremmo dire miliardi.
