Ykone: la moda è del social network

Si chiama Ykone e deriva da un accostamento di termini che sono “Icone più You”, e viene definito il social network più esaustivo in argomenti del mondo della moda. E’ nato nel 2008 dall’idea di due personaggi alquanto eclettici: Mathieu Lebreton (il blogger fondatore di Materialiste: Il magazine “elegante” che parla di lusso, tendenze, arte, design, shopping lo stile di vita ambientato a Parigi) e da Olivier Billon, il creatore di LemonSound (il network di musica elettronica e di cultura clubbing) e Digital Mix Marketing.

Il progetto nasce soprattutto per sviluppare la creazione di una sorta di Wikipedia della moda, una reale e completa enciclopedia della moda on-line. Il sito però sempre più si sta spostando nella sua idea iniziale e sta passando da enciclopedia a sito di riferimento per molti appassionati di informazioni glamour ed esclusive (ultimo esempio è l’anteprima del nuovo spot di Chanel girato con Audrey Tautou).
Sul sito tra le diverse news a cui si può andare incontro ci sono le immagini delle sfilate più in, le liste delle modelle sempre più sulla cresta dell’onda, i truccatori ed i parrucchieri più glamour, i fotografi più famosi e addirittura una sezione dedicata esclusivamente agli abiti. Il tutto contornato dalla solita area utente che permette l’interazione (la parte social del sito) tra gli stessi per poter commentare e discutere sulle ultime novità lanciate dalle case che si detengono il primato della moda.

Il social network, però, non è stato fatto salvo dalle solite critiche dai bloggers e dagli appassionati del settore per due motivi principali. Il primo è che il tasso di innovazione nella presentazione di nuovi marchi è abbastanza basso, basandosi soprattutto sulle news dei leader storici del settore. Punto secondo, invece, riguarda il lato interfaccia basato sulla lingua. In effetti il sito è disponibile (per adesso) solo ed esclusivamente in lingua francese, senza nemmeno l’opzione di poterlo leggere in inglese. Una pecca che sicuramente qualora venisse risolta, porterebbe molti più visitatori al sito.

  18. First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin.
