Twitter riformatterà tutti gli url con T.co

Lunedì 10 Ottobre il team di Twitter ha provveduto a comunicare che d’ora in avanti verrà dato il via al processo di riformattazione automatica di tutti i vari ed eventuali link che saranno inviati al servizio.

La riformattazione verrà effettuata su ciascun link mediante T.co ed in maniera indipendente dalla loro lunghezza, a differenza di quanto invece accadeva in precedenza (soltanto i collegamenti superiori ai 20 caratteri venivano riformattati).

Riguardo T.co si tratta dello short ufficiale di Twitter progettato al fine di evitare attacchi di phishing  e di malware permettendo la visualizzazione tanto del nome del dominio quanto del collegamento così da mettere l’utente in condizione di conoscere con esattezza cosa verrà visualizzato una volta cliccato sul link in questione.

Nonostante ciò gli altri servizi accorcia url continueranno comunque a funzionare senza problemi e, qualora lo si desideri, potranno quindi essere impiegati dalla vasta utenza iscritta al rinomato serviziodi microblogging.

La novità sembrerebbe, almeno in apparenza, una mossa di marketing fatta nel tentativo di mettere fuori gioco altre eventuali società che cercano di far fruttare i propri servizi mediante Twitter ma guadagni a parte il nuovo passaggio effettuato dal tanto amato servizio di social networking va anche e sopratutto a configurarsi come, analogamente a quanto precedentemente accennato, un sistema mediante cui infondere maggiore sicurezza negli utenti.

Arnaud Meunier, sviluppatore di Twitter, ha inoltre dichiarato che il nuovo sistema introdotto va a configurarsi come l’ultimo passaggio tecnico di uno straordinario sforzo attuato al fine di cercare di comprendere come cercare di coinvolgere, nel miglior modo possibile, gli utenti con lo straordinario quantitativo di link in circolo su Twitter giorno dopo giorno.

Unitamente a tutto quanto appena descritto la riformattazione dei collegamenti ha inoltre un’altra interessante funzione: quella di fornire delle metriche e dunque di indicare quante volte un dato link è stato cliccato.
