Stati Uniti: con Facebook si misura la felicità

Gli Stati Uniti sono sempre pronti a divulgare statistiche e nuove frontiere della conoscenza sociale al resto del mondo, e l’annuncio che ci arriva oggi è che la “felicità collettiva” passa per Facebook. Il colosso dei social network, infatti, ha creato il Gross National Happiness Index. Questo, altro non è che un indice che può essere consultato quotidianamente, che indica la scala dei sentimenti degli utenti giorno per giorno, analizzando il loro status ed indicando di conseguenza l’andamento della felicità.
Dal blog ufficiale del progetto, si legge che: “Ogni giorno milioni di utenti condividono il loro stato con amici, conoscenti e tutti gli altri utenti. Messi insieme gli aggiornamenti sono in grado di rivelare i sentimenti di un’intera nazione”.

Questo progetto, non risulta innovativo al 100%, anche perchè il network We Feel Fine ha provato già in precedenza a farlo. Questo progetto aveva confermato la buona idea (sempre dal punto di vista pubblicitario) del progetto per poter dare a Facebook la possibilità di modellare quotidianamente le proprie offerte.

Le parole chiave immesse negli status, verranno riconosciute da Facebook e saranno in grado di rivelare se lo status è positivo oppure negativo e trasformare il tutto in un grafico. Dalle informazioni divulgate, le parole che sono incluse in una lista positiva sono: buono, ottimo, felice; mentre quelle nella lista delle negativa sono: drammatico, paura, triste, dubbio.
Il Gross National Happiness Index, permette di analizzare i profili utente dei residenti negli USA, perchè attualmente funziona solo con l’inglese come lingua di default. Dai primi dati divulgati dal sito, si nota che le date più felici sono quelle delle feste tipo Natale oppure il Giorno del Ringraziamento, mentre le più tristi sono i giorni di crack finanziario mondiale oppure (ad oggi) quella della morte di Michael Jackson.

Facebook ci tiene a precisare che anche con l’interazione di questo sistema GNHI, la privacy degli utenti è al sicuro perchè: “Non abbiamo mai letto i vostri messaggi di status, la ricerca è il frutto di un’analisi computazionale che non richiede intervento umano e che conteggia le parole solo dopo aver eliminato tutte le informazioni personali inserite nel profilo utente“.
