Netlog continua il suo percorso in salita, ed infatti sembra proprio che i due giovani del Belgio Toon Coppens e Lorenz Bogaert, ideatori del social network grafico per eccellenza ce la stiano mettendo tutta. Il risultato di queste operazioni, vuole essere un nuovo esperimento di rete sociale dedicata esclusivamente agli adolescenti e soprattutto essere accattivante sempre più per questa categoria.

E sembra proprio che ci stanno riuscendo, infatti la loro community raggiunge ad oggi un numero di 56 milioni di iscritti in tutto il mondo e sono giovani di età a partire dai 13-14 anni fino ai 25 anni, con un 50% di uomini ed altrettante donne.

La novità, sta nella nuova interfaccia grafica del sito internet resa ovviamente più accattivante e soprattutto messa in opera sulla suo nuova interfaccia accessibile a tutti basata sui più noti “tabs”. Questa possibilità offerta di gestire il proprio profilo come fosse un semplice software di Windows, fa si che il sito sia più interessante per i giovani. Le quattro tabs scelte per il sito sono “Home”, “Profile”, “People” e “Play”. La sezione Play, include la novità multimediale della rete sociale, e cioè quella di mettere tutto insieme i documenti mediali caricati intesi come foto, video e file audio. E’ stata poi realizzata una nuova barra di navigazione utente che permette con maggiore semplicità di parlare con le persone via chat e ricercarle per età o per localizzazione geografica. Questa funzionalità è stata aggiunta sotto il nome di “People Page“.

Sono stati aggiunti poi (in puro stile Facebook) i giochi di ruolo all’interno di questa piattaforma. Toon Coppens ha spiegato che: “Mediante il socializing game abbiamo scoperto una nuova modalità con cui i nostri utenti comunicano l’un l’altro. Offrendo nuovi giochi e incentivandoli a sfidarsi abbiamo creato il terreno ideale per la nascita di una nuova occasione di dialogo. Stiamo inoltre lavorando alla creazione di una nuova pagina ‘Party’, che vedrà probabilmente la luce entro fine anno, grazie alla quale gli utenti avranno accesso a tutte le informazioni riguardanti i party e gli eventi piu’ cool organizzati nelle loro città“.

Il primo step per il social gaming sarà Gatcha!, una possibilità che si pone per diventare il primo Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) Site al mondo.

Per terminare sulle novità del sito, Lorenz Bogaert ha detto che: “E’ la prima volta che una tale iniziativa viene progettata e sviluppata su così grande scala, supportata da un team di esperti di Netlog che hanno fatto del social gaming la loro seconda casa. Ci stiamo tutti muovendo verso una concezione di Open Web, che presto si trasformerà in un Open World, non solo popolato da utenti ma anche da applicazioni e giochi. Come Netlog anche noi dobbiamo evolverci e diventare sermpre piu’ allineati alla filosofia del Web 2.0“.
