Un’idea che può sembrare stravagante oppure solo una provocazione per farsi un po’ di pubblicità? Parliamo oggi di Chris Ruby, un nome che forse a molti non dirà nulla se non si completa al suo nome, la sua dichiarazione (o promessa) di ricopiare tutta la Bibbia su Twitter. L’uomo autore del re-tweet della Bibbia dirige solitamente le funzioni religiose cattoliche alla King’s Church di Durham.

Il suo progetto è stato annunciato sul quotidiano Telegraph ed è stata data anche una data di scadenza per quando il testo sarà completato: l’8 Novembre del 2013.
Secondo la promessa, per quel giorno tutta la Sacra Bibbia sarà stata ricopiata su Twitter a colpi da 140 caratteri. A qualcuno sembra semplicemente il gesto di un folle, mentre altri dicono che un po’ di religione ci sta bene su Twitter anche se questo sembra un modo abbastanza massiccio di smistare informazioni.

Secondo altri, invece, il caro Ruby potrebbe basarsi sui testi sintesi del Sacro originale, come quelli che esistono per l’Islam o per il Buddismo, che sono già stati testati su Twitter come pubblicazione. Eventi principali del genere sono quelli dei profili di “@Quran”, profilo dedicato interamente al Corano, oppure “@BiblicalTanakh” per i testi sacri ebraici, o ancora @DalaiLama infine al buddismo in ogni sua forma. Per la Bibbia, esiste già un profilo che si chiama @BiblePromis, ma ovviamente non ha mai avuto lo scopo di trascrivere completamente tutta la Bibbia ma solo alcuni pezzetti.
