Instagram, dal 16 gennaio 2013 cambia la privacy policy

Nel corso delle ultime ore Instagram ha iniziato a comunicare ai propri utenti i cambiamenti ai suoi termini di utilizzo ed alle sue regole legate alla gestione della privacy degli iscritti che entreranno in vigore a partire dal 16 gennaio del prossimo anno.

Tali modifiche, così come sottolineato dal team di Instagram, aiutano l’app a operare più semplicemente in quanto parte di Facebook permettendole di condividere informazioni tra i due gruppi.

Se da un lato la cosa dovrebbe portare a conseguenze positive quali, ad esempio, una ben più efficace lotta contro lo spam ed alla creazione di funzioni migliori per tutti attraverso la comprensione di come l’app viene impiegata dall’altro, invece, l’applicazione delle nuove norme fa si che i contenuti generati dall’utente e le sue informazioni (cookie, file di log, dati di geolocalizzazione, informazioni sull’uso del servizio e identificatori dei device utilizzati) vengano condivisi con gli affiliati, con le aziende che fanno legalmente parte dello stesso gruppo di aziende di cui Instagram fa parte, o che diventano parte di tale gruppo.

Gli affiliati, quindi, potrebbero utilizzare tali informazioni per migliorare i servizi di Instagram ma, ovviamente, anche i propri.

Tali affiliati, tuttavia, onoreranno le scelte prese dagli utenti in merito a chi ha la possibilità di visualizzare le foto scattate e pubblicate mediante l’app.

Per quanto riguarda il caso specifico degli utenti del Bel paese e, in linea ben più generale, di quelli europei viene sottolineato il fatto che Instagram e gli affiliati potranno trasferire informazioni anche personali verso una nazione o una giurisdizione che non ha le stesse norme sulla protezione dei dati della propria giurisdizione e non è un caso che la cosa venga sottolineata tenendo conto del fatto che le norme europee, se confrontate con quelle statunitensi a cui, appunto, Facebook ed Instagram fanno capo, sono decisamente ben più rigide e stringenti.

Tali modifiche, comunque, non implicheranno particolari cambiamenti per tutti coloro che allo stato attuale delle cose si servono sia di Instagram che di Facebook.

  42. Even the gods, if they exist, must laugh from time to time. Perhaps what we call tragedy is merely comedy from a higher perspective, a joke we are too caught up in to understand. Maybe the wisest among us are not the ones who take life the most seriously, but those who can laugh at its absurdity and find joy even in the darkest moments.
