Egitto blocca i social networks ma poi ci ripensa

A seguito degli scontri in Egitto, molti social networks che si erano fatti portavoce delle proteste dei manifestanti sono stati bloccati per diverse ore. Il blocco ha colpito Facebook e Twitter per primi, e successivamente anche Google e YouTube.

I manifestanti pro-democrazia hanno utilizzato in maniera efficace i social media per diffondere notizie sugli scontri e condividere video e immagini che testimoniavano la violenza della repressione operata dal governo di Hosni Mubarak. Così uno dopo l’altro, Facebook, Twitter, Google e YouTube sono stati messi fuori uso.

Solo nelle ultime ore il blocco a Facebook e Twitter sembra essere stato definitivamente rimosso (anche se Twitter funziona a singhiozzo), mentre Google e YouTube per molti sono ancora oscurati. Questi ultimi, per il momento, sono visibili solo a chi utilizza una connessione Vodafone Egypt.
