Drupal: Un CMP che parla italiano per la creazione e la gestione di social network

Facciamo un viaggio attraverso la rete ed incontriamo un interessante progetto cha parla anche l’italiano che tocca lo sviluppo e la gestione degli ormai onnipresenti social network. Il logo che ricorda un po’ Napster non ha nulla in comune con il software di File Sharing.

Drupal è un software gratuito che nasce come ausilio di utenti e comunità per la pubblicazione e la gestione di community web. Nello specifico sul proprio portale viene definito ottimale per:

– portali web di community e siti di discussione
– portali web e intranet aziendali
– siti web personali
– aficionado sites
– applicazioni e-commerce
– directory di contenuti

Punti forti oltre la gratuità della piattaforma sono le abilitazioni di:

– sistemi di amministrazione di contenuti
– blogs
– ambienti di scrittura collaborativa
– forums
– newsletters
– gallerie di immagini
– uploads e downloads di files

Ogni pagina creata con Drupal, viene definita “nodo” dove agli utenti è possibile concedere o meno permessi limitati e non su creazione e modifica dei nodi di diversi tipi. Ovviamente come una workstation di casa, è possibile distinguere da default i ruoli di utente autenticato e non autenticato, ma si possono aggiungere amministratori, power user, guest, ecc. Queste funzioni ritornano molto utili quando viene utilizzato per creare forum e directory.
Lo sviluppo ha avuto un ulteriore incremento da quando i social network stanno prendendo il sopravvento anche perchè la duttilità della piattaforma per questa tipologia di applicazioni lo rende di frequente utilizzo.
Come ogni aggregatore CMS che si rispetti, è basato sull’add-on di moduli che permettono l’inserimento di personalizzazioni quali aggiunta di immagini,  libri, video, ecc. I template classici disponibili in misura sempre maggiore sono ad una, due o tre colonne, oppure impaginazioni fatte a box, oppure conoscendo un poco di html e di php è possibile creare i propri template con molta semplicità.
Importante è la possibilità di aggregare Feed RSS senza moduli ma basandosi solo sul core dell’applicazione. A gennaio Drupal ha compiuto 8 anni, ma secondo gli sviluppatori e gli utenti che contribuiscono quotidianamente (fino a portarlo all’attuale versione 6) è in continua evoluzione…
