INQ Mobile, la nota casa gestita da Hutchinson Whampoa, ha dichiarato che entro il Natale del 2009 porterà sul mercato inglese (e forse americano) un nuovo cellulare ottimizzato per il social network Twitter. Dopo lo Skype Phone, e dopo il Facebook Phone, ecco quindi arrivare un Twitter Phone. Il dispositivo base, sembra rimanere infatti il modello INQ1 prodotto da INQ Mobile e che ha fatto molto rumore un paio di mesi fa. Ad oggi, sembra che l’offerta sullo stesso modello potrebbe automaticamente modificarsi alla nuova popolarità di Twitter. Infatti, proprio a seguito del grande boom del microblogging, Hutchinson ha deciso di dedicarsi a questa piattaforma. Il collegamento tra i due prodotti (Twitter e l’INQ1), sembra così facile da sembrare scontato. Questo perchè la brevità offerta nei messagi di Twitter e la mobilità si adattano al dispositivo rendendo l’offerta ancor più mirata alle necessità.
INQ Mobile ha venduto dal lancio nel 2007 del proprio prodotto, oltre 700.000 pezzi. Questa nuova introduzione nella gamma prodotti della casa, sarebbe il lancio di un dispositivo che porterebbe a tre l’offerta di INQ Mobile. Natale è sicuramente il periodo più redditizio per decidere di lanciare questa novità in Gran Bretagna. La connettività è fornita, infatti, nel Regno Unito dallo stesso Hutchinson Whampoa attraverso la rete Tre (che controlla INQ Mobile). La promessa per i cittadini inglesi è quella di aumentare l’utilizzo di questa rete, molto più rispetto a quella tradizionale dei cellulari e degli smart-phone, che sicuramente è più costosa.
Il Twitter Phone, secondo rumors ufficiosi, potrebbe costare circa 139 dollari americani ma sicuramente non più di 140 dollari. La disponibilità prevista nel Regno Unito è per Natale. Il secondo lancio, avverrà direttamente, invece, negli Stati Uniti d’America, dove il 2010 segnerà un cambio radicale nella vita degli utilizzatori di Twitter. Per il resto d’Europa e nello specifico per il caso Italia, non ci sono cenni, anche perchè è da poco disponibile nelle vetrine dei negozi della catena H3G il nuovo INQ1 marcato Facebook.
