Ti è mai capitato di loggarti a Twitter e accorgerti di non avere niente da dire? Niente paura perché il “blocco dello scrittore” capita a tutti, perfino ai twitteri più prolifici, quelli che aggiornano lo status e postano link ogni cinque minuti. A tutti – lo ripetiamo – tranne a quei 21 autori che hanno raccolto la sfida del quotidiano inglese The Guardian: scrivere un romanzo (ma sarebbe meglio dire una storia) di appena 140 caratteri.

Rinomati autori di best sellers come Jackie Collins e Jeffrey Archer, ed esponenti della nuova narrativa americana più irriverente e provocatoria come AM Homes hanno dato il loro contributo pubblicando dei tweet che sono in tutto e per tutto dei piccoli romanzi.

La scorsa settimana tutti i tweet contrassegnati dall’hashtag #140novel sono stati pubblicati sul sito web del Guardian per essere votati dai lettori, proprio con un tweet. L’esperimento ha subito raccolto numerosi consensi, e Twitter ha decretato vincitore Ian Rankin “il re incontrastato del giallo scozzese”.
