Omonima di Kate Middleton, cacciata da Facebook

Manca ormai poco a quello che è stato definito come l’evento mediatico più importante dell’anno. Parliamo ovviamente del matrimonio reale britannico tra il principe William e la futura principessa Kate Middleton, che domani sanciranno il loro amore all’interno della prestigiosa cappella di Westminster.

Chiaramente la cosa non ha mancato di creare problemi alle numerose donne nel mondo omonime della bella Kate, specialmente quelle iscritte sul social network più popolare del mondo: Facebook.

È successo a… Kate Middleton, ma non quella vera, o meglio quella più famosa, ma ad una semplice donna (nella foto) di 32 anni, originaria di Louisville (Kentucky). Impiegata in un negozio di biciclette a Concord (Massachusetts), l’unica somiglianza con la futura principessa risiede solo nel colore dei capelli (castano), ma nonostante ciò è stata più volte contattata da diversi giornalisti che le chiedevano addirittura di fingere interviste con accento inglese.

Peccato che la mini-notorietà le si è poi rivolta contro. Gli amministratori Facebook, credendo probabilmente in un falso, hanno deciso di rimuovere il suo account nel mese di gennaio, eliminando anche le foto in cui era stata taggata. Per fortuna, è bastata una e-mail zeppa di spiegazioni e le prove che si chiamasse semplicemente proprio come la bellissima di Reading per riavere il profilo nel giro di una settimana. Dalla Kate americana non è mancato comunque un commento tra l’amaro e l’ironico su Twitter:

Facebook ha disabilitato il mio account per aver usato un nome falso. La vera Kate Middleton può alzarsi per favore?

A quanto pare lo stesso è accaduto a due donne inglesi ed un’australiana, tutti e tre casi risolti comunque alla medesima maniera. Povere omonime della prossima principessa britannica, “costrette” a condividere con la stessa un nome ormai di grossa risonanza mondiale ed in certi casi pagare con l’esilio da social network famosi, seppur temporaneo.

La Kate USA ha comunque approfittato della situazione dando vita ad un tour ciclistico da Boston a Provincetown che si svolgerà a luglio per aiutare la raccolta di fondi per la sclerosi multipla. Un’iniziativa…reale.
