E’ ufficiale, Amazon ha reso noto che la nuova versione con relase 2.5 dei software Kindle e Kindle DX, permetteranno ai propri utenti di poter condividere su Facebook e su Twitter parti dei propri libri preferiti. Questo avverrà entro la fine di Maggio 2010, momento in cui l’aggiornamento sarà inviato agli e-book in modalità wireless e di conseguenza la vasta utenza non dovrà più far nulla per poter ricevere in automatico gli aggiornamenti.
Ma non finiscono qui le novità di questa relase. Oltre alla possibilità di integrazione con i social network, abbiamo infatti altre particolarità: i caratteri più nitidi per la lettura e più grandi, la protezione degli e-book con password, la possibilità di consultare i documenti della comunità sul libro richiesto e l’organizzazione automatica per tag in raccolte separate, così da “settorializzare” anche le proprie opere.


La concorrenza spietata che ha Amazon con la Apple ora che è in commercio l’iPad, ha fatto si che il nuovo kit di aggiornamento mostri tutti gli aspetti più “invitanti” del device di Amazon.
Oltre a questo, parlando di mercato, la Amazon ha dichiarato di aver avuto un aumento delle vendite globali di ben il 46% solo nel primo trimestre, anche se il numero preciso dei terminali venduti rimane segreto per i soli addetti ai lavori. Per continuare il discorso di superamento della concorrenza, proprio da qualche settimana la stessa società ha rilasciato un SDK, un kit di sviluppo per le applicazioni Kindle. Oltre a questo la stessa ha acquistato una azienda americana che è specializzata nella tecnologia di realizzazione dei touch screen. Così mettendosi in casa la produzione, lo sviluppo ed il corredo software, Kindle sicuramente diverrà molto performante.
Non dimentichiamo l’evoluzione futura che si aspetta con la tastiera che integra le funzionalità touch per la navigazione dei testi. Questa, già annunciata da Amazon qualche mese fa, dovrebbe essere in dirittura di arrivo per gli utenti.
