Gaikai, giochi in streaming anche su Facebook

Gaikai

Una gran bella notizia per gli appassionati di videogiochi, da poche ore la piattaforma Gaikai è disponibile anche su Facebook. Per chi non lo sapesse Gaikai è una piattaforma di cloud gaming simile ad OnLive, che permette di giocare ai migliori titoli per PC via browser, in streaming, senza bisogno di scaricare e installare niente.

Ideata da Dave Perry (genio creativo responsabile di giochi come Earthworm Jim, MDK e Messiah), Gaikai sta riscuotendo sempre più successo e la versione per Facebook (ancora in beta) permetterà di espandere il bacino di utenza a livelli inimmaginabili.

Come detto, nel momento in cui scrivo l’applicazione è in fase beta, potete provarla liberamente, aspettatevi però crash, rallentamenti ed errori vari, del resto si tratta di un programma in fase di test, in continuo sviluppo e soggetto a migliorie. L’utilizzo è piuttosto semplice, l’interfaccia è comoda e piacevole da usare, ottimizzata anche per i browser installati su tablet e smartphone.

Poter giocare via browser a titoli di grande spessore è sicuramente un bel passo avanti per il mondo dei videogiochi, grazie a Gaikai potremo mettere le mani sui migliori titoli per PC e giocarli su Facebook come già facciamo con titoli come CityVille e FarmVille, giusto per fare un esempio.

I giochi disponibili per ora non sono molti, su Gaikai per Facebook troveremo le demo di The Witcher 2, Dead Rising 2 Off The Record, Saints Row The Third, Orcs Must Die e poco altro. Personalmente ho provato sia The Witcher 2 che Saints Row The Third, con ottimi risultati, anche se è richiesta veramente tantissima banda, con la mia connessione ADSL 20 MB in alcuni casi lo streaming ha faticato non poco, immagino quindi la sofferenza per chi si connette con chiavette o connessioni meno performanti.

Le potenzialità di Gaikai su Facebook sono enormi, la piattaforme cambierà sicuramente il modo di giocare sui social network, in attesa della versione definitiva vi consiglio di provare la beta, non ve ne pentirete assolutamente.
