Tante le richieste che sono arrivate dall’ONG per la protezione dei minori, ma sembrano tutte essere state vane per Facebook. In primis ci sono state le richieste di una ONG inglese che per tutelare i piccoli, ha chiesto con più missive l’introduzione del Panic Button a Facebook tra le pagine del suo sito.
Ma cos’è questo rinomato Panic Button? Il “pulsante di panico” è già presente su molti dei social network on line, ed altro non è che un pulsante linkato che trasporta l’utente su un sito che riporta il comportamento da tenersi in caso di minacce informatiche.
Secondo quanto dichiarato dal network della BBC, Facebook ha evidenziato che il suo sito è di sicuro “uno dei più sicuri nel mondo” e per questo si è impegnato ad oggi a pubblicare solo ed esclusivamente il link che permetta di segnalare determinati abusi e che soprattutto sia direttamente collegato con il department della Child Exploitation and OnLine Protection (CEOP).


Questo è anche confermato dal fatto che la CEOP, la settimana scorsa ha ricevuto ben 252 segnalazioni proprio provenienti da Facebook e nel solo primo trimestre di questo 2010, il buon 40% riguardava un possibile adescamento dei minori da parte di qualche pedofilo.
Ad oggi la ONG, continua a richiedere l’utilizzo del Panic Button e maggiormente da dopo l’omicidio della 17enne Ashleigh Hall, violentata e uccisa da un uomo sconosciuto che l’ha adescata proprio su Facebook.
