Facebook apre un nuovo ufficio ad Amsterdam

Facebook continua la sua espansione territoriale degli uffici puntando, questa volta, alla città di Amsterdam.

La realizzazione del nuovo ufficio, che va ad aggiungersi alle altre sedi di Dublino, Amburgo, Hong Kong, Hyderabad, Londra, Madrid, Milano, Parigi, Selangor, Singapore, Stoccolma, Sydney, Tokyo e Toronto, così com’è facile immaginare, mira prevalentemente ad un avvicinamento da parte del noto social network a quelle che sono le imprese del Benelux, la regione dell’Europa occidentale costituita da Belgio, Olanda e Lussemburgo, nella speranza di poter guadagnare un maggior numero di inserzionisti.

Le possibilità di incrementare notevolmente la pubblicità relativa a Facebook in tali zone risultano infatti decisamente ampie se si considera che, in base ai dati raccolti Nielsen, nota agenzia di ricerca, nel 2010, gli inserzionisti locali hanno speso la modica cifra di ben 145 milioni di euro in pubblicità su Internet

Secondi i dati stimati, al momento, sul tanto amato social network risultano attivi circa 4,8 milioni di utenti nei Paesi Bassi, 4,5 milioni in Belgio e 235.000 in Lussemburgo e la realizzazione del nuovo ufficio e le successive sopra citate sponsorizzazioni del servizio dovrebbero dunque permettere di incrementare tali numeri che risultano sovrastati da Hyves, concorrente di Facebook nelle locazioni geografiche in questione.

A tal proposito, a detta di un portavoce di Facebook, il tanto amato social network userà tutte le sue forze per sovrastare Hyves che, considerando i dati, viene dunque visto come uno sfidante diretto sebbene i membri del servizio olandese abbiano sottolineato che non vi è competizione tra l’uno e l’altro e che tanto il primo quanto il secondo possono coesistere senza alcun problema.

In ogni caso, nel nuovo ufficio, al momento, figurano già 4 dipendenti ma naturalmente, con il passare del tempo, aumenteranno considerevolmente di numero formando dunque un gruppo di lavoro piuttosto ampio e, ovviamente, altamente efficiente.
