Lo scontro tra Barack Obama e Mitt Romney è entrato nel vivo, e anche quest’anno i social network giocano un ruolo fondamentale nelle elezioni presidenziali americane. Se la politica USA ti appassiona e non vuoi perdere nemmeno una notizia ti farà piacere sapere che Google ha lanciato un canale YouTube interamente dedicato alle elezioni 2012.

YouTube Politics promette una copertura completa dell’evento, con i video dei candidati e dei partiti, i momenti salienti della campagna elettorale, le riprese dei dibattiti e i commenti degli anchor men più quotati, con report live e le analisi da ABC News, BuzzFeed, Larry King, il New York Times, il Wall Street Journal e molti altri.

Si stima che al momento una percentuale pari al 5% degli americani sia ancora indecisa su chi votare. Ed è proprio qui che entrano in ballo i network, non solo YouTube ma anche Facebook e Twitter. A questi colossi è affidato il compito di convincere gli indecisi, mossa che si è già rivelata vincente per Obama durante le presidenziali del 2009.

È un fatto dimostrato che la mobilitazione online abbia un forte impatto anche nel mondo reale e che i social network siano in grado di spostare un numero significativo di voti, anche diverse migliaia.

Forse la cosa più interessante di YouTube Politics è che questo canale ci offre, in maniera semplice e intuitiva, una panoramica di come funziona la macchina della propaganda negli Stati Uniti.
