Barack Obama e i social network, una scommessa vincente

Il bello dei social network è che tutti possono fare la loro promessa e sostenere gruppi, cause o persone. Questa pratica ha il nome di “pledge“, un giuramento, un impegno virtuale che in molti casi si è tradotto anche in un’azione più forte, come raccolte di firme o petizioni.

Barack Obama, neo eletto presidente degli Stati Uniti dà il buon esempio, rinnovando il suo impegno a far uscire il paese dalla crisi, e chiedendo ai suoi concittadini di fare altrettanto, con una pledge, appunto, in cui chiama il sostegno degli elettori.

La sua promessa di cambiamento ora è online sulla community my.barackobama.com, un social network di chiara impronta democratica, ed è spiegata in tre semplici punti.

Energy — Transforming America’s economy to run on clean and renewable energy in order to create new American jobs and industries.
Health care — Comprehensively reforming health care so that families, businesses, and government are relieved from the crushing costs that impede economic growth and prosperity.
Education — Reforming and investing in America’s education system so that citizens are prepared to compete in a global economy.

Così Obama spiega il suo programma per uscire dalla crisi, un impegno che pone l’accento sulle risorse energetiche rinnovabili, il cui utilizzo potrebbe creare nuovi posti di lavoro; sulla riforma della sanità, per renderla pubblica e accessibile a tutti, in modo che la gente non si rivolga solo agli ospedali privati, che tolgono fondi allo stato invece di far girare l’economia; sulla scuola, per un miglior livello di istruzione per tutti, e per essere più competitivi sul piano dell’economia globale.

Già durante la campagna elettorale, per l’appoggio venuto dai social network come MySpace e Facebook, Barack Obama si era guadagnato il soprannome di “candidato Facebook“. Ma il suo interesse costante a coniugare politica e Internet, è un segnale forte sulla possibilità dei social network di muovere un grande numero di persone.
