Il dubbio è amletico e posto dalla dottoressa Giuliana Proietti leggendo il quotidiano britannico Daily Mail:
“Una ragazzina di quattordici anni che mette sue foto erotiche su MySpace è da condannare per molestie sessuali, o è invece lei stessa una vittima di molestie sessuali, perpetrate nei suoi confronti dal mondo adulto?”
La notizia di una ragazzina quattordicenne del New Jersey, di cui non si è reso pubblico il nome, è stata processata per pedopornografia dopo aver pubblicato circa 30 foto sul social network MySpace, in cui si mostrava nuda. Il processo è terminato con l’arresto della ragazzina. Le immagini che potevano essere viste da tutti gli amici ed i conoscenti, erano state pubblicate (a dire della giovane) per mostrarle al proprio fidanzatino. La Polizia americana è giunta sulle sue tracce dopo aver ricevuto una segnalazione del National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Il suo curriculum ha aggiunto tra i suoi titoli quello di “sex offender“, che di conseguenza, implica l’avviso a tutto il suo vicinato di avere per vicina di casa una molestatrice sessuale. Il dubbio posto dalla dottoressa è molto interessante e occupandoci noi dei social network, non possiamo evitare di amplificare la sua domanda. Nel mondo dei social network il proprio fisico e la propria appariscenza, è divenuta più importante dell’intelligenza, del carisma e della propria cultura?

Secondo gli esperti della comunicazione visiva, la risposta è affermativa. I media in generale, a partire dalla televisione in primis, fino ad arrivare ad Internet, stanno diffondendo sempre più una cultura dell’immagine non rivolta al bello, all’estetica (alle opere d’arte per intenderci), ma a tutto quello che è bello nelle “idee viziose” delle comunità. Ovviamente si tratta di grosse accuse fatte ai media che sempre osannati per lo scambio etico di informazioni e novità, vengono in questo contesto attaccati come “distruttori di valori sociali”.
