Chiude Amplify, uno dei maggiori concorrenti di Posterous

Amplify è un servizio di blog posting nato un paio di anni fa sulla scia del successo di Posterous. Infatti come Posterous, anche Amplify permetteva di “ritagliare” tutta o parte di una pagina web (per esempio solo una foto o un video) per condividere i contenuti su altri blog e social network tramite il cosiddetto “autopost”. Proprio grazie a questa sua caratteristica, Amplify è stato subito indicato come uno dei maggiori concorrenti di Posterous, altro celebre servizio di autopost. Purtroppo le cose sono andate diversamente, e oggi Amplify chiude.

After much consideration, we’ve decided that it is time to shutdown Amplify. On behalf of the team, I want to thank you for being part of our journey. It is important to us that we shut down the service in the most responsible and considerate manner possible.

Nonostante il tono cortese dell’annuncio, la chiusura di Amplify è stata piuttosto brusca, con appena un giorno di preavviso. Già oggi i blog non sono più raggiungibili, però è possibile migrare su un’altra piattaforma chiamata Clipboard, con la possibilità di importare i contenuti dal precedente blog.

Ma Clipboard è molto diverso da Amplify, almeno sotto l’aspetto grafico. Se Amplify era un progetto basato sulla piattaforma WordPress MU, Clipboard si avvicina più a Pinterest, altro contenitore di contenuti che oggi riscuote molto successo. Clipboard mantiene l’opzione di autopost che ci consente di salvare e condividere i contenuti su tutto il web, ma li organizza diversamente da Amplify. E’ possibile vedere un esempio nel video qua sotto.
