Twitter: anche lui attaccato da Koobeface

Come è già successo per Facebook, anche Twitter diventa l’obiettivo di uno dei più conosciuti virus per social network: koobface. Dato che molti sono rimasti infetti da questo programmino maligno, gli amministratori hanno bloccato numerosi account, sospendendo loro il servizio ed avviando una pulizia completa. Come funziona koobface? In un modo molto semplice. Il virus si trasmette tramite dei messaggi che vengono inviati al nostro account tramit degli amici (infetti). In questi messaggi c’è sempre una richiesta di aprire un link con il quale si dovrebbe visualizzare un video, cosa non vera, in quanto si viene reindirizzati verso un sito fasullo e/o avviene la richiesta di aggiornare flashplayer.

Quello che in realtà si scarica non è l’aggiornamento ma bensì il file .exe del virus che, una volta insediatosi nel nostro profilo, continuerà a divulgarsi a tutti i nostri amici con i soliti messaggi con link. Già Facebook ha dovuto fare i conti con una minaccia del genere che, per il suo nome KOOBFACE (leggendo al contrario koob è bookface), sembrava essere indirizzata solo al social network di Zuckerberg.

Chiunque fosse infetto riceverà da subito una email di avviso di Twitter assieme ad un kit per rimuovere il malware, dal proprio computer, definitivamente. Come avvisano gli stessi amministratori sul blog ufficiale:

We are currently suspending all accounts that we detect sending such bogus tweets. If we suspend your account, we will send you an email notifying you of the suspension. This email also includes tips for removing the malware from your PC.

Inutile affermare che in un futuro prossimo potrebbero sorgere applicazioni antivirus apposite per i social network, sempre più appetitosi per hacker che possono reperire informazioni utili con molta semplicità. Tra i più colpiti saranno soprattutto quelli più emergenti come Twitter e Facebook.

Ancora ricordiamo a tutti di fare attenzione a singolo commento che ricevete e soprattutto controllate i link di destinazione.

  1. When I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every time a comment is added I recieve four emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from that service? Appreciate it!

  4. My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on several websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
