Quanti di voi utilizzano più di un client chat a casa o sul computer dell’ufficio? Quasi tutti, scommetto. Magari ne abbiamo uno per chattare con gli amici (sperando che il capo non ci scopra) e un altro per la chat di lavoro. E a volte anche un terzo da usare esclusivamente per quelle interminabili sessioni di videoconferenza. In questo caso ci farebbe proprio comodo poter gestire tutte le nostre conversazioni, tutti i nostri affari, con un solo software, leggero, facile da utilizzare, e perché no, con un interfaccia gradevole e allegra, che si può personalizzare facilmente.

In nostro aiuto allora c’è Trillian, leggero (funziona anche con Win98) ma completo Messenger in grado di collegarsi contemporaneamente ai più famosi IM come ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, IRC, Jabber e molti altri. Trillian, disponibile sia in versione gratuita che a pagamento, offre la possibilità di chattare online con colleghi, amici, conoscenti che utilizzano le varie tecnologie per la messaggistica istantanea, di scambiarsi file, e di effettuare una videoconferenza audio/video in tutta sicurezza grazie alla funzione SecureIM che va a cifrare le conversazioni in tempo reale.

Ma la forza di questo programma sta nelle numerose e bellissime skins, che fanno di Trillian una chat davvero personale, e nella vasta gamma di plugin che vanno a integrare nuove funzioni tra cui un mini-browser, una barra di ricerca, un antispam, ecc.

Unica pecca: il programma è in inglese, e nella versione gratuita, non permette di collegarsi con il proprio account Skype. Disponibile solo per Windows.
