CityVille ha da poco superato il tetto dei 100 milioni di utenti, ma evidentemente sono già tanti coloro che hanno abbandonato il gioco, visto che Zynga ha appena messo in atto una promozione che regala 10 City Cash a tutti coloro che tornaro attivi su CityVille.

Secondo Zynga i 10 crediti in omaggio (equivalenti ad 1.50 euro circa) potrebbero convincere gli utenti a tornare su CityVille, è indubbiamente una buona mossa pubblicitaria, anche se è difficile prevedere quanti giocatori saranno attratti dai City Cash.

E’ strano che CityVille stia iniziando a perdere utenti, il gioco è stato lanciato poco più di un mese fa ed in brevissimo tempo è stato provato da un gran numero di giocatori, talmente tanti che CityVille è attualmente l’applicazione più popolare su Facebook. Questa promozione vale solamente per i giocatori che tornano attivi, e non per chi gioca per la prima volta, segno evidente che effettivamente il numero di utenti è calato, altrimenti una offerta di questo tipo non avrebbe molto senso.

FarmVille sembra ormai aver perso tutto il suo appeal, i giocatori attivi sono poco più di 50 milioni, ma stanno calando progressivamente con il passare delle settimane. Anche CityVille sembra avere lo stesso problema, con la differenza che il secondo è un gioco recentissimo, mentre il primo è in circolazione da più di due anni.

Zynga è cresciuta tanto in questi ultimi anni, proprio grazie all’enorme diffusione dei suoi giochi, un calo di utenti potrebbe significare l’inizio di una piccola crisi nel settore dei social games, crisi già predetta da molti analisti, secondo gli esperti il mercato sarebbe già saturo ed i giocatori sono stufi di giocare con titoli sempre uguali e limitati sotto molti aspetti, come grafica, gameplay e sonoro. Speriamo che sia solamente un momento passeggero, visto che sono molte le aziende che stanno investendo nel settore dei giochi social.
