L’apertura di Twitter ai nuovi contenuti è vicina. Non più solo testo, si supera la soglia dei 140 caratteri e si comincia ad introdurre foto e video nei messaggi e negli aggiornamenti di status. Ovviamente una serie di strumenti simili era già introdotta dall’esterno al social network, basti analizzare i tanti TwitPic, TwitVid, yfrog, Twitgoo, ma anche YouTube, Ustream, Vimeo, Flickr, DailyBooth, DeviantART, Etsy, Justin.TV, Kickstarter, Kiva, Photozou e Plixi che quotidianamente vengono utilizzati come reminder per i post di Twitter.

Ovviamente l’idea di fare il nuovo è seguita da una nuova interfaccia grafica che non appena è stata mostrata a San Francisco, in sede, ha fatto il giro del web in pochissimo tempo.

La nuova interfaccia è disposta con una colonna sulla destra che ingloba tutti i contenuti nuovi, leggibili direttamente sul lato sinistro.
Biz Stone, il co-fondatore di Twitter, ha deciso di dare un’anteprima dicendo che: “Ci sono un quarto dei 90 milioni di cinguettii quotidiani che linkano esternamente a Twitter“.

Di conseguenza quando verrà fatto l’upgrade alla nuova interfaccia, i suoi 145 milioni di utenti vedranno delle migliorie ed una semplificazione nell’uso del social network.
