La nuova funzione ha lo scopo di rendere Twitter più semplice da usare e quindi accessibile a un maggior numero di utenti.

In più, gli short url di Twitter sono formati da una versione abbreviata del link originale, in modo tale da far sapere agli utenti che il link punta proprio a quel sito e non ad una pagina web che contiene virus o malware.
