Novità in casa MySpace dal punto di vista tecnico e geografico. Parliamo infatti di uno dei portali di social network che ha fatto la storia del web: MySpace. Infatti a seguito delle recenti critiche fatte al sito per motivazioni di natura “2.0”, il portale ha deciso di migrare verso un ammodernamento che porterà con se novità interessanti per gli utenti.

Il MySpace Music che conoscono già da un bel po’ di tempo negli Stati Uniti d’America, farà da “insegnante” per la versione europea dello stesso. Per partire con una fase beta di questo passaggio di interfaccia, si partirà dalla Gran Bretagna.

Con un nuovo strumento integrato nell’interfaccia del social network affollato da artisti e band emergenti, si potrà effettuare la condivisione dei contenuti musicali (sia canzoni che videoclip, oltre che playlist), dando la possibilità agli utenti di acquistare direttamente i brani (ed anche intere compilation) utilizzando il servizio di digital delivery (come quello usato da iTunes).

Ma le novità non finiscono qui, infatti sembra proprio che il portale abbia deciso di fare musica a 360° e di conseguenza di entrare in una nuova sfera del commercio dell’entertainment: la vendita dei biglietti di concerti ed il merchandise degli artisti.

Questo progetto vede il team di MySpace, essere affiancato dai professionisti della musica mondiale come la Universal Music Group, la Sony Music, la Emi Music e la Warner Music Group. Tutte le collaborazioni del social network con le major sono state presentate ad un evento del Club Heaven di Londra con concerto della rock band Kasabian.

Le parole di Courtney Holt, presidente di MySpace sono state: “La nostra intenzione è quella di creare un contenitore sociale e una piattaforma mediatica, sicuri che la condivisione dei contenuti sia il cuore pulsante della nostra strategia per il futuro.
Desideriamo che gli utenti e i navigatori prendano parte attivamente al processo di ricerca e distribuzione della musica“.
