Gangs of Boomtown su Google Plus, un social games in esclusiva assoluta

Google Plus sembra voler puntare tutto o quasi sui giochi, o meglio sui social games in esclusiva assoluta, in modo da attrarre una fascia specifica di utenti: i videogiocatori da social network.

I giochi sono stati uno dei fattori decisivi del successo di Facebook, perciò anche Google+ ha deciso di seguire quella che, a conti fatti, sembra essere ancora una strategia vincente. Ma Google offre ai suoi utenti una chicca: games online pensati per il network di Mountain View e giocabili esclusivamente da Plus.

Si comincia con Gangs Of Boomtown, social games della Digital Chocolate, la società di Trip Hawkins, già fondatore di EA. Il gioco si presenta come un mix di missioni, RPG multiplayer e strategie di citybuilding alla maniera di Sim City, tutto immerso in un’atmosfera western. Idea simpatica ma non eccessivamente originale, tanto da chiederci perché Google tenga tanto all’esclusiva dei social games.

Quando sono apparsi i primi giochi Facebook, molti utenti sono stati sommersi da richieste, inviti, e regali di mucche virtuali. La strategia di Google invece sembra puntare più sulla qualità che sulla quantità. Insomma solo giochi selezionati per arginare lo spam.
