Foursquare e Gowalla, i nuovi fenomeni: capire cosa sono

I social media e principalmente i social network sono la fortuna di molte aziende dell’era del web, che si sono viste coinvolte in questi progetti da milioni e milioni di utenti (spesso) senza nemmeno capire come. Già sono nell’analisi di Facebook si trovano gli oltre 400 milioni di utenti che quotidianamente imperterriti continuano a scrivere, contattare, aggiornare, inviare cose ad altri utenti. Ma oggi non parliamo dei soliti siti conosciuti con le solite note applicazioni, ma dopo alcuni tanto parlare di social network e social gaming, parliamo di qualcosa che possa unire i due concetti.
Foursquare e Gowalla sono dei giochi sociali di localizzazione, che vengono visti come la rivoluzione del web e di conseguenza come fonte di denaro per molti investitori. Ovviamente sono basati sui device mobile ed includono la necessità quindi di avere un GPS integrato. Ad investire fino ad ora sono stati i soliti noti: Yahoo e Gary Vaynerchuk (legato al nome di Wine Library TV).


Ma cerchiamo di capire cosa sono veramente questi Social Game Location Based.
Foursquare nasce principalmente come un servizio di localizzazione che permette tramite smartphone di comunicare al mondo la propria posizione geografica. La novità è che quest’ultimo permette di trasformare la propria vita in un gioco, facendo ad “acchiapperello” con chi vuole partecipare con te. Diventa gioco nel momento in cui quando si fa l’aggiornamento della propria posizione fa guadagnare punti e premi.
Gowalla, lavora sullo stesso stile con una sola differenza: che a vincere punti e premi è chi riesce a scoprire ed identificare posti nuovi.
Un nuovo modo di far diventare la propria vita un videogames? Sicuramente darà frutti ma non stiamo dimenticando il fattore privacy?

Non sorprende quindi la decisione comunicata proprio in questi ultimi giorni sia da Facebook che da Twitter di voler rientrare nel progetto stringendo una partnership con la software house fornitrice del progetto. Questo perchè le due realtà hanno i fondi per rientrare e sicuramente non vogliono essere fatte fuori dai business del futuro.
