Una indagine della BBC rivela quello che molti di noi sospettavano da tempo. Il 50% degli uomini iscritti a Facebook ritocca la foto del profilo di Facebook con Photoshop o altri programmi di grafic ed applicativi online.

Piccoli ritocchi come la rimozione dei nei o cambiare il colore del viso per renderlo più vivo. Anche gli occhi vengono leggermente ritoccati, per non parlare dei capelli. Sembra proprio che gli uomini abbiano problemi a mostrarsi al naturale su Facebook.

Altri particolari interessanti fuoriescono dall’inchiesta della BBC. Bisogna specificare che sono stati presi in esame solamente gli utenti Facebook residenti in Inghilterra, ma certe caratteristiche sono comuni in tutto il mondo.

Per esempio l’1% degli uomini si fotografa mentre fuma una sigaretta, il 5% mentre beve mentre la maggior parte degli utenti sotto i 30 anni preferisce farsi fotografare a feste e party.

Il discorso cambia quando parliamo di maschi over 30. In questo caso la foto del profilo ritrae spesso la famiglia, con moglie e figli sorridenti. Sopra i 30 anni comunque l’immagine del profilo tende a diventare più serie e ritrae l’uomo magari in ufficio o impegnato in qualche attività culturale, da solo o con i figli.

Come abbiamo detto, non ci sono dati riguardo gli utenti Facebook italiani ma siamo sicuri che anche dalle nostre parti le abitudini sono più o meno le stesse. Potete scoprirlo scorrendo l’elenco dei vostri contatti, anche se, ovviamente, esistono delle dovute eccezioni.

Quello che stupisce comunque è la scarsa propensione a mostrarsi in maniera naturale su Internet. Siamo sicuri che anche le donne ritoccano spesso la propria foto del profilo su Facebook, per apparire in maniera più curata. Con Photoshop ormai possiamo togliere facilmente le rughe dal viso e ritoccare le piccole imperfezioni estetiche del nostro volto. Una tentazione troppo forte per la maggior parte delle persone, che preferisce mostrarsi in modo artefatto, a quanto pare…
